Perm - Leadership - Director of Nursing (DON) (Days) St Ignace, MI
Shift Notes: 5 days per week, 8 hour shifts, Monday - Friday
Weekend Requirements: When Needed.
On Call Requirements: Based on Rotation
The Director of Nursing responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
- Oversee all nursing services to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate resident care.
- Ensure proper assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation of resident care.
- Monitor resident outcomes and address quality-of-care concerns.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
- Supervise and support nursing staff (RNs, LPNs, CNAs, and nurse managers).
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate nursing staff.
- Promote teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environment.
- Address staff performance issues and conduct disciplinary actions when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., CMS, state health departments).
- Prepare for and participate in surveys, inspections, and audits.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures consistent with regulations.
- Lead quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.

- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
- Current Basic Life Support Certification - [REQUIRED] [DOCUMENT]
- Prior experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing - [REQUIRED]
- At least 3 - 5 years of nursing experience. - [REQUIRED]
- Infection Preventionist Certification (or obtain within 6 months of hire, free program offered through CMS)
- Experience in Matrix EMR. - [HIGHLY PREFERRED]
