About the Position:
We are seeking experienced Functional Strength Coaches to support a comprehensive Human Performance and Holistic Health & Fitness program serving Air Force personnel. The Functional Strength Coach will design and deliver mission-specific strength and conditioning programs designed to improve physical readiness, strength, endurance, mobility, durability, and performance while helping reduce preventable injuries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver functional strength and conditioning programs.
- Conduct individual and group Human Performance evaluations.
- Design training programs based on individual, unit, and mission-specific requirements.
- Lead strength and conditioning sessions for personnel with varied occupational demands.
- Provide instruction on proper exercise and weightlifting techniques.
- Conduct performance-training clinics, including running and weightlifting-form training.
- Support unit physical training sessions in coordination with fitness personnel.
- Develop portable and sustainable training guidance for personnel preparing for deployment.
- Provide performance recommendations addressing strength, endurance, mobility, load carriage, equipment movement, and repeated high-intensity activities.
- Track participant performance and maintain accurate training and assessment records.
- Prepare monthly performance reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with Athletic Trainers, Mindfulness Coaches, and unit personnel.
- Participate in professional development, meetings, and program coordination activities.
- Work effectively in field environments, including inclement weather and nonstandard working conditions when required.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Kinesiology or Exercise Science from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience as a practicing strength coach.
- Current Tactical Strength & Conditioning Facilitator (TSAC-F) certification.
- Current Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to successfully complete required background, security, drug-screening, installation-access, and other contract-related requirements.
